Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before using PsychoDose.
Privacy and data
Is my medical data private?
Yes. Your daily entries are stored locally on your device by default. No data is sent to a server without your explicit consent.
If you choose to link an email address (to sync across devices), your data is encrypted in transit and stored in a secure database. It is never sold, shared or used for advertising.
Can my doctor access my data?
No, never without your action. PsychoDose shares nothing automatically. You generate a PDF report and choose whether to print it or send it to your doctor.
What happens if I uninstall the app?
If you haven't linked an email address, your data is lost with uninstall (it was only on your device). If you have an account, you can recover your data by signing in again.
Daily use
How long does a daily entry take?
About two minutes. You rate six dimensions (energy, mental clarity, sleep, mood, side effects, behavior) on simple sliders and can add a free note if you wish.
Can I edit an entry after saving it?
Yes. From the History tab, you can find any past entry and edit it.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. PsychoDose is a Progressive Web App (PWA) that works offline. You can record entries without a connection, and they will sync on the next connection if you have an account.
Are there reminders or notifications?
Not yet in the current version. Daily notifications are planned for an upcoming update.
Export and doctor
How do I generate a report for my doctor?
In the Report tab, choose the desired period (1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month) and tap "Generate report". You get a PDF with your curves for energy, mood, sleep and your side effects over the period.
Does my doctor need a special app to read the report?
No. The report is a standard PDF file, readable on any computer, tablet or smartphone. You can print it or send it by email.
Does PsychoDose replace my doctor or my treatment?
No, and it's important to say so. PsychoDose is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, recommend medication, or replace medical follow-up. It helps you communicate better with your doctor — nothing more, nothing less.
Account and sync
Do I need to create an account to use PsychoDose?
No. You can start immediately without an account. Your data is stored locally on your device.
An account (email + verification code) is useful if you want to access your data from a new device or avoid losing it if your phone is reset.
Is the app available on iPhone and Android?
PsychoDose is an installable web app (PWA). It works in the browser on iOS and Android, and can be added to the home screen for a near-native experience. There is no app in the App Store or Play Store at the moment.
Is the app free?
Yes, PsychoDose is completely free.
Companion tool
Is there a tool to better manage my sessions with AIs like ChatGPT?
Yes — Ancrage is a companion application for people who use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and want to protect their cognitive energy. It offers quick morning check-ins, a session timer, break reminders and a personalized prompt that tells the AI how to work with you based on your state of the day.
Especially useful for people managing ADHD, burnout, sleep deprivation or cognitive fatigue — profiles often close to PsychoDose users.
